In the wake of the Newtown tragedy, Washington is preparing for what may be a major legislative battle over gun control and policies to combat gun violence. Research into the causes and correlates of gun violence will undoubtedly play a major role in legislative debates.

To contribute to this discussion and showcase the work of Yale scholars and national innovators on issues relating to gun violence, the Yale Institution for Social and Policy Studies (ISPS) is please to host a panel, “Preventing Gun Violence: What Research and Experience Can Tell Us About What Works.” The event will be held Thursday, February 7, from 6:30-7:30 PM in LC 102. Panelists will include faculty experts on public health, sociology, and the law, as well as representatives from local law enforcement and a national gun safety advocacy organization. The audience will have an opportunity to ask questions of the panelists. The event is open to both Yale students and staff and the New Haven community at large.
