Q & A with David Mayhew about the 2016 Elections

July 21, 2016

Yale News sat down with David Mayhew, Sterling Professor of Political Science and ISPS Resident Faculty, to get his perspective on the 2016 elections. Mayhew is a leading scholar on the American Congress and a seasoned observer of the American political system.

Mayhew discusses the nation’s mood this year, and points to some historical parallels with previous elections in the U.S. Looking at the Congressional elections, Mayhew predicts that “the House will probably stay Republican,” and that “control of the Senate looks like a tossup, maybe leaning Democratic.”
