Jacob Hacker on MSNBC’s “All In”

On October 2, MSNBC’s Chris Hayes aired a segment of his show, “All In” on “Debunking A Republican Stunt,” with Jacob Hacker on the panel of guests, as well as Lizzy O’Leary (American Public Media’s “Marketplace”) and Jelani Cobb (Professor at University of Connecticut). The show first looked at the Affordable Care Act’s similarities with the Federal Employers Health Benefit program, and then went on to discuss what the government shutdown and Republican demands meant for the ACA and the economy. Hacker said, “Republicans, in a sense, are drawing all the attention away from the early launch of the Affordable Care Act.” In addition, he noted that the shutdown had real costs for the economy, “$1.2 billion is being pulled away from the economy each week.”
