Amanda Kowalski Receives National Science Foundation Award

Amanda E. Kowalski, assistant professor of economics and ISPS Health faculty, has won a CAREER award from the National Science Foundation.

As a health economist, Kowalski has been looking at the impact of policy and the complexities of the health insurance market from the state health reform act of Massachusetts in 2006 and the likely outcomes of the national Affordable Care Act of 2010.

Kowalski is also a faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. The NSF award will support Kowalski's research project, "Public Health Insurance, Medical Expenditures, and Labor Market Outcomes" for five years.
