A Special Talk by Michael Sanders of the Behavioural Insights Team

Michael Sanders is Head of Research in the Behavioural Insights Team (BIT), based in the UK Cabinet Office, and a PhD Candidate and Research Fellow at the University of Bristol’s Centre for Market and Public Organisation. His work in BIT involves coordinating the team’s work on randomised controlled trial design, and leading workstreams on pro-social action, altruism, education and crime. He is also chair of the UK’s Cross Governmental Panel on Trial Design. Prior to returning to academia he worked in publishing and as a reporter in the Middle East.

In this talk, Michael Sanders will talk about the UK Government’s Behavioural Insights Team’s work in bringing behavioural economics to government policy, as well their advocacy of inexpensive yet robust evidence based policy. He will also (in a Yale exclusive) present the results of two new experiments carried out by the team, which have never been presented before.
