Biography
Alex Branzell is an events coordinator at the Institution for Social and Policy Studies (ISPS) at Yale University, where he supports the planning and execution of academic events and programs that bring together researchers, policymakers, students, and the broader public.
His background in event management spans nearly a decade across higher education, government, and advocacy organizations, including the University of Connecticut, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, the U.S. Department of State, and the Human Rights Campaign. He has lived and worked in four countries and over eight cities, but is proud to be back in his native New Haven.
Alex holds an MSc in International Social and Public Policy from the London School of Economics and has taught courses on economic development and human rights. His own recent interests center on urban planning and economic history, demography and political economy, and geographic information systems.
He views academic events as an important space for developing and disseminating ideas, cultivating the next generation of scholar-practitioners, fostering interdisciplinary exchange, and connecting Yale’s outstanding research community with broader public conversations.
