Hannah Srajer

Hannah Srajer is a PhD student in the Department of History and is pursuing a certificate in Women, Gender, and Sexuality studies. Broadly, their research explores the relationship between scientific and medical technologies and the US carceral state in the later half of the 20th century. As an ISPS Graduate Policy Fellow, they will be examining the proliferation of behavior modification programs as a form of coercive “rehabilitative” programming in correctional settings, uncovering how unprecedented funding for scientific law and order techniques facilitated a shift towards a more punitive prison.
