Simone Seiver Named as a Gates Cambridge Scholar

February 13, 2017
Simone Seiver, an ISPS Director’s Fellow and Dahl Scholar, has been named a 2017 Gates Cambridge Scholar. As an ISPS Fellow, Simone worked on criminal justice reform and founded the Connecticut Bail Fund along with three other Yale students. CT Bail Fund helps post bail for individuals who are held in jail on low-level charges and who lack the financial resources to afford their bond payments.

In Cambridge, she will continue pursuing the issue of pretrial detention and how it negatively impacts defendants.

The Gates Cambridge Scholarship program selects academically outstanding and socially committed US students to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree at Cambridge University. The program was established with a donation from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to the University of Cambridge in 2000.
