Biography

Tina Zeng is a sophomore studying global affairs and computing, culture & society. With her passions in public interest technology, democratic innovation, and social entrepreneurship, she hopes to leverage technologies like AI for social impact. She aspires to pursue a career in public service that contributes to policy and legal frameworks that safeguard our civil liberties in the digital age. She currently interns with the community data organization, DataHaven, as a Dwight Hall urban fellow, and she serves as a student AI liaison for the Poorvu Center and communication coordinator for Yale’s Digital Ethics Center. Previously, she has conducted mixed-method and participatory action research on the trustworthiness and safety of AI systems for blind people, K12 school cybersecurity policies, youth civic engagement, New York City school funding, and issues impacting New York youth.
