Biography
Zahra Abba Omar is a Ph.D. candidate in sociology and women’s, gender, and sexuality studies. Her dissertation focuses on FemTech firms and how people working in technical and non-technical roles in these companies make decisions about platform design. She received her B.A. with honors in sociology at the University of Cape Town in 2020, where she was a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow.
