Professors Alan Gerber and Gregory Huber at Yale University’s Institution for Social and Policy Studies (ISPS) and Center for the Study of American Politics (CSAP) offer a full-time, one-year postdoctoral research associate position that begins July 1.
The role involves work on a range of research projects in American politics, including field experiments, studies of political identity, and research on how political attitudes shape participation and voting behavior. Responsibilities will be tailored to the selected candidate’s strengths and interests and may include coordinating multi-institution research projects, collecting and managing data, and conducting initial data analysis.
Strong technical skills — such as programming or a background in mathematics — are highly valued. Candidates should also have excellent organizational skills, experience with databases and statistical software, and training in statistical methods. Project management experience is a plus. A Ph.D. or equivalent degree is required by the start of the appointment. Salary is competitive and will be set based on experience.

Postdoctoral Research Associate Fellowships
CSAP also offers research fellowships for for postdoctoral scholars working on American politics.
Fellows spend the academic year in residence at Yale, starting July 1. During this time, they take part in the center’s activities, including regular research seminars, and become part of a collaborative scholarly community. Fellowship terms are flexible and depend on the candidate’s qualifications and current funding. In some cases, fellows may teach one course.
These fellowships are open to scholars who have completed their Ph.D. within the past six years, as well as to current faculty members who do not yet have tenure.
