Call for Proposals: Practical Papers on Advancing Democratic Performance.

Democratic Innovations has launched a new series of practical, rigorous papers that will summarize the findings and gaps in the academic literature about how to improve government.

Each nonpartisan, impartial, academic paper will:

  • Offer jargon-free, scientifically accurate descriptions of the key subjects relevant for the promotion of high-quality, honest, and efficient democratic governance
  • Target audiences outside academia as well as scholars in specialties outside political science
  • Include an executive summary containing the key lessons for institutional design or government practice

 Possible topics include:

  • How government can deploy artificial intelligence to improve performance
  • How government performance should be measured
  • Approaches to controlling corruption
