Event description:

ETHICS, POLITICS, AND ECONOMICS (EPE) LITOWITZ LECTURE

The Ethics, Politics, and Economics program is hosting the annual Litowitz lecture with guest speaker Alejandro Poiré, distinguished university professor on government and public transformation at Tecnológico de Monterrey and visiting research fellow at the Center on Democracy in the University of Chicago.

In this talk, Professor Pioré will reflect upon the political narrative that underpins autocratic attempts worldwide. He will also draw lessons from Mexico’s extraordinarily developed and highly commended electoral institutions, which, he will argue, counter-intuitively contributed to democratic backsliding.

PLEASE RSVP TO ATTEND.
