ISPS to Join Scholars Strategy Network

Professor Jacob Hacker will represent ISPS in the Scholars Strategy Network. Founded in June 2009, the Scholars Strategy Network will marshal and project the ideas of university-based scholars committed to a bright future for American democracy and public policy. Some of the challenges that will be examined by the Network are: The possibilities and politics of public revenues, the “Next American Economy,” and reforming America’s public schools. In each case, the Network will foster forward-looking exchanges between members and interested public partners. Resting on solid research foundations, sponsored projects will also articulate value-relevant goals and offer practical and democratically grounded strategies. Future Network projects will tackle additional pressing challenges, such as the regulation of immigration and full incorporation of migrants and their children into American life; labor law reform; improving national and community infrastructure; and politically sustainable measures to address climate change.
