NPR Features Zack Cooper’s Health Care Pricing Project

April 28, 2016

Zack Cooper's Health Care Pricing Project was featured in an episode of NPR's All Things Considered, "That Surgery Might Cost You A Lot Less In Another Town." The episode looks at the how hospital monopolies in certain areas of the country are raising the cost of care so much that it might be worthwhile for patients to travel outside their locality for routine surgeries, such as knee replacements.

"The market just isn't working," says Cooper. "It turns out that monopoly power in health care can work like monopoloy power in other areas."
