Jacob Hacker’s Course on US Public Policy Online

ISPS Director and Professor of Political Science Jacob Hacker is offering one of his most popular classes, “The Politics of US Public Policy,” online and open to the public available on YouTube. 

Due to the COVID- 19 pandemic, the classes started after the spring break with the first class on “Market Failure and Collective Action” posted March 23. The most recent class uploaded is “The American Political Economy: Polarization of Places, Parties, and Policies.” The class will also feature expert speakers, such as Vesla Weaver and Alex Hertel-Fernandez, in the weeks to come.

Professor Hacker is an expert on American politics and policy and is also widely known for his research and writings regarding health policy, especially his role as the architect of the Public Option. He has authored and co-authored eight books. His newest book, Let Them Eat Tweets:  How the Right rules in the Age of Extreme Inequality is scheduled to be released on July 7.
